Karel Nijs

Karel has 28 years of experience in audit, valuation and transaction support. He has a large specialization in venture capital funds, start-up IT companies and venture backed companies (including stock option related issues). Karel started his career as an auditor at Big Four-firm (1994 to 2001, including 2 years in Silicon Valley). In 2001 he joined the venture capital fund Big Bang Ventures. In 2005, Karel joined Clybouw Auditors as audit partner. In 2012, Karel founded Nijs Roeckens Auditors, which joined Finvision in 2019. Karel graduated in economics at University of Antwerp in 1993 and obtained a post-graduate in Accounting & Auditing at University of Leuven in 1994. Karel is a registered public auditor (IBR/IRE) in Belgium since 2004. He is also recognized by the FSMA.
